How the ledger is kept
- New coins
- A coin shows up here when we start pricing it, as long as it trades enough to hold a rank ($1,000 a day).
- Records
- All-time highs and lows among the top 300 coins, for coins with at least 30 days of closes. Stablecoins are left out: a dollar coin's new high is a rounding error.
- Movers
- Today's biggest rise and fall over 24 hours among the top 300, and for each earlier day the biggest gain and drop from one close to the next.
- Exchanges
- Two or more failed reads in a row, and any exchange we start reading. One missed read changes no price, because each read counts for 20 minutes. Exchanges that fail together share one line.
- Corrections
- Members' corrections that an administrator approved.
In the time column, “close” marks a day's closing price, and “day” a record read from that day's high or low, where the minute isn't on record. Two things are missing on purpose: coins taken out of the ranking, and exchanges adding or dropping a pair. The registry keeps no record of when those happen, so it can't list them.
