Zcash is a privacy cryptocurrency that uses zero-knowledge proofs (zk-SNARKs) so shielded transactions reveal nothing about sender, receiver or amount. It launched on 28 October 2016 from Bitcoin's code with the same 21 million cap, and its block reward halves roughly every four years.
